My Cards

I keep forgetting to post this.

And here it is July and it's still in Drafts!

I'll set it to publish in a few days!

A few of my friends decided to make birthday cards for me in May.

These are friends that don't make cards, in case you wondered.

The newsy looking piece in front is some "ephemera" from one of them.

I taught them that word 10 years or so ago.  

They still throw ephemera at me when 

they think they have some. 

(Note.... the card on the right is an altered card.... I gave her high praise!)

The Fourth Came and Went!

Chalk Drawings were done.

Some chalk may have been eaten.

Not everyone liked their hat!!! 

Some did!

My granddaughter called it Celebrating July...

she never did get the 4th part down.

I'm doing the Daisy Yellow Index Card A Day (ICAD) Challenge again this year.

This is my third year to do it.  When I look back at the cards I've made over the last two years, it's some of the best stuff I've made! I really love it! You should give it a try. In fact I hoard them....

I don't want to send them out into the world. (this is a problem I apparently have with a good bit of the art I make..... but that's another blog post....... oh, wait.... I'm shutting this down soon.... right?)

Anyway, above are the cards I've made this year.

(It started June 1, but you can start at any time.)

As you may can tell... I can copy really well. ha!

It Rained......... a lot....

I have lots I could say about the flooding in Texas right now.

Our hearts are broken over Wimberley.

If you've read my blog awhile, you know that my family

vacations there a lot.  We were last there in May of 2014.

We love Wimberley and the ankle deep Blanco River.

So sad.

These two pictures are of the golf course behind my house this morning.

It always gets some run off from the San Jacinto River when it floods.

There is a reason my neighborhood is built up above the golf course.

It's at least a five foot drop down my back fence to the course.

I now have egrets, etc. for my viewing pleasure.

And at night........ the frogs sing like I've never heard.

I think a million came in with the water!

It's definitely a swamp experience!

Pray for the flood victims!

What is the meaning of this meeting?

Noticed a bunch of buzzards/vultures sitting on my next door neighbor's roof last week.

An eerie sight!

Couldn't find any adjustment, filter, etc. to really add to this .... need a sky edit I guess. 

Any suggestions?

Two of them sat on my roof..... just so ya know...

This was all before a bunch of rain came in... so the sky was a boring flat color...

I sent my neighbor a text with the photo and said 

"look on your roof... they've heard of your imminent demise."!!!!

Made a few bunnies for the grandchildren and great-niece!!!

Pretty basic.  But, there is a tutorial here if you need one.

Gesso Book

Yesterday I was working in my gesso book...... an old Gregg Shorthand book.

These pages are mostly inspired by the Misty Mawn class... Full Circle Workshop.

But I find that I use this book for all my classes to a degree.

Need to do the cover....

So............. this is to say that I am doing a few things..... but mostly just my art journals.... which

is what I consider this book to be.
