Baby Shower

Hosted my first shower in the new house a week ago.
It's hard figuring out a new house......
Where things go.....

I made a bunch of paper bunting....... which of course I didn't get a lot of pictures of...
This is a little corsage for the mom to be.......
one of my co-hostesses made it...
so cute!

But they were fun to make. Cut mostly triangles and hot glued them to ribbons.
Also punched a bunch of circles and sewed them together.....
hung those over the chandelier
in the dining room and had them in the powder room.

We tried putting balloons in the grass using golf tees before the shower....
as seen on Pinterest...
We needed them to be tall to help people find my new house....

Don't tie the tees on the balloons before you separate the bunch....
(just trust me on this one)!

This was the quiet before the party in the early morning light....

Have a blessed Holy Week!

Whit

This is a prayer request......... for those of you that pray..... and I do hope you all do... We have some dear friends that have a 3 1/2 year old son that has become very ill. He's had several misdiagnosis (misdiagnoses?) this past week.... his case is very complicated.. But they have the right one now... and it is a blessing compared to the prior diagnosis.

One of the great things about our world today is the internet, blogs and Facebook! We are able to communicate with one another so quickly.... that can be used for so much good. So please add Whitten Gray to your prayer list. Here is a bit of his story...... totally lifted from his dad's facebook page....

Whit has a little brother...
they share a room...
they love super heroes...

especially Spiderman!

His dad shared the devotional he had just read on the 18th....

from his dad: Ok here goes. In the last week, we have beaten glomerulonephritis, autosomal polycystic recessive disorder, then bilateral wilms tumor, now we have one more left to beat: Pre Cursor B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. His is a little bit different because his blood looks so good. (That is what made it tough to confirm the preliminary diagnosis') Leukemia is usually always in the bone marrow but occasionally can get stuck in the kidneys. (The enlarged kidneys are the other part that was making the diagnosis difficult) We probably have it in the bone and the kidneys. We've done blood work today and chest X ray (pray there are no masses that have shown up in the last two days). Tomorrow am Whit will have surgery where he will have a spinal tap, bone marrow test, and they will install the port in his chest. Chemo will start tomm. Also sometime tomm we should have all the lab work from the blood and bone marrow testing then we will know exactly what we are looking at and design our exact treatment plan. Sharla and I feel really good about this and we are ready to fight. We will have intensive treatment the first 8 days and we will be in the hospital at least one month and then chemo for the next three years. (Outpatient) Obviously there is always more to the story and it is going to be a long road but the Doctor is amazed at how "normal" and healthy he is. Hopefully this means we caught it quick. Doctor Vallance said: "get ready, the killing starts tomorrow!!!!" Best thing I have heard in a week. The first month is crucial to give us an indicator on how the treatment is going to work. She said it should die and go away and the kidneys should go back to normal. That means two working kidneys!! (Coach Kingsbury: two kidneys means football is still on the table, don't give that scholarship away yet!!!) Sharla and I have been very strong today and we are doing good. Please pray for all the beautiful bald kids on this floor. Also say a special prayer for the room across the hall with a sign on the door that says "breast feeding in progress". Broke our heart...

Please pray........ I'll update you some...
