.......sooooo.... I didn't get to go to Warrenton/RoundTop/Marburger.....

A good friend from our youth..... someone we've known 40 years plus....

died of cancer on Saturday.... Our first loss of a close peer.

So we will be attending his services and celebrating his wonderful life.

He was a wonderful person and it will be great to see all the old gang.

We see a lot of them at least every 5 years because they are/were members

of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets....and they do reunions.... but this will be different.

But you don't come to my blog to read such....

and I know that...

sooooooooooo....

here are some sneak peeks of the latest QB5 swap...

it will mean nothing to you and it's mostly to tantalize the other women in the swap!

First is Margaret's.

Her base is a bingo card...

Next is Nathalie's....Asian theme....on a coaster... and Patty's.....I know it's reallllllllly elusive.....but that's the nature of the beast.... sorry...

....and Carole's.... they are all finished except this one... and I know EXACTLY what I'm going to do....I just need some hours in which to do it.....

Marburger Farms/Round Top/Warrenton

MONDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: We lost a dear friend to cancer on Saturday. His funeral is Thursday. Will have to miss Round Top/Marburger/Warrenton this week..... there's always the Fall Show. If you go, take a picture for me! When I said below that it was my "plan".... I knew it might not work this week.

It's only about 2 hours from my house.... but we are staying there for 2 1/2 - 3 days...

At least that's my plan!!!

What Do You See?

The latest QB5 swap is about making something from a "pile of stuff"

(or bits as Margaret and Carole call them).

We set up some guidelines for ourselves....

hmmppph!..... and sent them off.

We sent the same packet of stuff to each of the other swappers. Above is what Carole sent us. I forgot to take a picture before I began to assemble her's...so this is from Margaret's blog...the only difference is my lady is different.

Carole works mostly in fabric..... so she's really loving all the paper we sent her!

Below is what Nathalie sent us....she loves an Asian theme... which I find extremely difficult to work in.... Nathalie's foundation piece is a coaster and we are to not have things hanging off of it.

Next up is Patty.

Patty's foundation is a toasted, flattened sardine tin!

I think she sent a strange assortment of stuff.

She thinks they all go together quite well.

hmmmm...

Here is Margaret's assembly....

We all got different men... I got the priest.

Considering that it's bingo..I think they go well together!!!

I mailed them a chipboard house shape that I got at Michael's. So my hope is that I can hang them all together once home....a little QB5 Neighborhood!

I've already received mine back from Patty!

It is ADORABLE!

You are going to love it!

I'm waiting to show it....don't want to influence the others that are still working!

I have finished all of them except Carole's!

I also need to make a house out of my stuff.

Hopefully we will have a reveal soon.

Winter is Over!

Deep in the Heart of Texas

....I've been absent a few days... went to a friend's ranchland...

My husband is holding my wine while I take pictures....

but you know we won't let him claim that...

So..... last week, I looked up the schedule for the next

stagecoach heading west....

Packed our bags and departed for the lands west of San Antonio....

I might add that it was VERRRRY windy and thus the new hairstyle!

and left my boots packed for dancing.... didn't want to get them dusty...

..... you can't really complain about your stagecoach, but this one was a little dusty.... saw lots of turkeys...

and we all headed to the local watering hole...

I should've taken more animal shots...

I mean pictures...

(they don't like the word shots)

when we left I turned and took a picture out the back of the stagecoach...

I must say that the blasted moon was so bright all week,

you could hardly see the "stars at night"

deep in the heart of Texas.

Spring Break is over.

March Madness

I suspect that most of you don't know what March Madness is... or else you think it has something to do with hats or spring flowers. ??? Well, it's about college men's basketball!

And it all starts TODAY! The Final Four is in Houston this year!

And the National Championship is here on April 4!

Make A Journal!

Carole taught a video class on making a journal last year.

Here are the photos of my book.

I made it small... I just love the size!

I am using it to put notes from blogging friends in there...

that they send me in snail mail...

It's such a treat to get things in the mail from your blogging buddies!

I always save their little notes and so I'll have a representative number

in this little book and I can write my notes in the pages telling about them!

On February 11, I told you I was hosting a Paper Angel Swap on my yahoo group.

They all arrived and now are in their swap homes.

Some girls did 3, some did 12....

it was a one for one swap.

Some did them all alike and some did them all different....
