The Bloglandia Ball - Wednesday, September 26, 2007
The day of the Bloglandia Ball has arrived! I think this will be a lovely dress to wear. It will also look nice in the garden as you can see below. It is just a perfect dress to dance in and be comfortable. I especially love the petticoat!
Below is the dress I had to put aside...I do love it.....but the silver sparkly stuff at the neck and on the arms was just a little "itchy". I don't want to be fidgeting in my ball gown!
What? You have nothing to wear? Well...you could probably pull something together if you really tried. Run over to Eb's and see what the others are wearing....I'm sure you'll look fine.

What????
I can't believe it's been over a week since I posted! Oh, I hate when people just disappear like that. I mean "are ya gonna blog or what"? I have no excuse. Here is something I FINALLY finished this week....I know....it's weak....I struggled...it's for a swap on my favorite yahoo group. But it is the best I could do. However, it is a picture taken during one of the best weeks of my life! It was 12 years ago at my first UMARMY Camp. That's a Methodist mission camp for high school youth. This was my first team and they were so wonderful. They fell in love with the children at this house where we worked for about 3 days. That is the grandmother standing on the top step. She kept her grandchildren during the day....this little boy was named Bubba and he was beautiful. It just makes me cry to think about that house and that week. Yes, that's me holding Bubba. I went to about 8 UMARMY Camps. I had a team for two years and then did other jobs, including Co-Directing with my husband two years. UMARMY is a blessing.

A Banner Day!
I have been working on some "RAKs" to mail out. I love making these banners and pennants. I have the bases ready for the pennants, still have the fun part to do on some of them...embellish! In fact, that's all I want to make right now. But I did do those 16 pages today for the fat books swap over at Christian Paper Artists that I signed up for. DH played golf an hour or so away today...giving me a free Saturday to play. So they go in the mail on Monday. I'll scan it before I mail...I'm not totally happy with it, but it will work.

House Art
I'm still not getting any paper art done. But I am picking out things for the masterbath remodel and new wood floors for the living area. So here are some shots of a house I did a few years ago in memory of my childhood home. It was a very theraputic process. The paper mache house is from Hobby Lobby. I made the little book to go inside and it has a drawing of the floorplan and some memories of the house from my childhood. You should make one!
Glued to the bottom of the house is the mapquest map of where this house is!

Monday, Monday
I'm having major "block".....I have to do 16 pages for a fat book swap...4 x 4 size. I do not want to tell you how many hours I have spent trying to do that. I have done quite a few of these books in the past...this one has caused me much "consternation".
So....here are some more pages from the Lovingkindness book for you to see:

Gothic Shaped Book of Scriptures
I promised to upload a few pages of the His Lovingkindness Book...so here are a few. This first one is a half page with wire on top, done by Jan Kessell. The page behind it was also done by Jan.
This is the third page done by Overachiever Jan. ha! However, the three verses just had to be done together and she did an incredible job. This shows the back of Jan's last page and the front of Corbi Beshears' page.
This is Chris McNeal's page:

Better Pics
Times... they are a changin!
<-Student Section..khaki area is the Corp! Other light area is where the band sits. For at least 8 years I would take out the binoculars and find my kids sitting in the student section. It was just something I did during the game. I always knew where their seats were that day, so that helps!
But now I no longer have to look for my kids. Now they are sitting next to me!! They are not going to like these pictures of themselves...but that's too bad, isn't it! I'll post some better ones of them later. I know you don't read this blog to hear about Aggie football ... so back to the paper art very soon!!! Can you believe it's September!!!!!!!!!!!
