Sewing Paper

Now that the big ice storm of 2014 is over here in Houston,
(that's an inside joke)
I got into the art room today and just started sewing paper together that was in my trash!

I brought a trash bag in here with intentions of emptying the can and taking it to the recycling bin outside.
But.... I had just watched some of the videos from Mary Ann Moss' Sewn class
and.... well...
you know!

I made some pieced paper.......
made a little book.........
I once made those all the time... such fun!

I am determined to use up my stash of STUFF!
At the rate I'm going it will take a decade.... apparently I can't throw any of it away!

I know it's not a great photo.
But I'm not trying to get into any Stampington publications ya know!
So I just snapped one with the old iphone and uploaded it.

I did feel a need to get those dead birds off my lead photo for my blog....
But they HAD to be documented! I just felt their time was past.

So now I'm going to make some books with my pieced paper!
(and no, I haven't done any thing with that wool yet...
I decided to not let it control me! ha!)

Happy Weekend!
Stay Warm!

Well, this is pretty cool. Can't wait to see what you do with the paper in books. I'm like you -- trying not to buy anything much and use what I have. OK -- gel medium, glue, certain specific paints but nothing just because it's cute. We'll see how that goes -- you and I can keep each other on the honest track!

Your sewn paper looks fab...clever way to use pieces way too good to get rid of Missy ♥ it will be fun to see what you make with it from here (no pressure tho)
