Hot Time in Round Top/Warrenton

To say it was oppressively hot in South Texas last week would be an understatement.....
I have never been that hot when shopping!
The two things just don't go well together!
I must tell you that this is called
because they have antiques there.
There are some new things.... but not many...
But I don't believe I've ever gone the "first week...."
known as "Preview Week" before.
I prefer the 2nd week when everything is open.
So ...it was hard and a little disappointing....
I did manage to buy a few treasures tho and will show them to you next time.
I just uploaded the pictures on my camera...
haven't unwrapped all my goodies yet.
Above is a photo my daughter took on her phone and sent me.
She KNOWS what I like.
I had already seen it..... she was there with a girlfriend shopping.
I NEVER found doll heads for sale. I did look for them.
Seems like everyone is using them now and wants to sell them to me already repurposed!
I loved this little tent..... bought some old letters from her.... Jill Suzanne!
Here are just some random shots I took going down the street....
Between venues you see places like this....
There is no way you can see everything that is there...
not even if it was sixty degrees!
(which it's supposed to be in Houston Monday morning!!!!)
See the deputy below..
last Spring I got a photo of her on her horse.
Bought some gourds...
(no, just three)
A car parked outside of Royer's Cafe.....
(Did you see the pie and ice cream hidden up there?
Royer's Cafe.... just order the cinnamon bread pudding...
it's incredible...)
Next time I go.... I'm waiting and going to Marburger Farm Antique Show
which opens next Tuesday. It's between Round Top and Warrenton.
We are puppy-sitting Henry this weekend.
He's waiting for me to finish updating my blog.....

I thought it was unbelievably hot also - it sapped the energy right out of you. I hate to say this but I saw a ton of dolls at this one booth - it was downright scary all the parts he had. Don't ask me where... Warrenton, somewhere. Just posted my pics. Found a few goodies.

It looks like you had fun but I understand about the heat.

I am driving to Dallas Wednesday and stopping by Round Top on the way.

I LOVE the door hanger doll! Normally old dolls are made to look CREEPY, but this one is CUTE! SWEET even! We should all look sop good with a chunky, chippy body. ha!

Lucky, lucky you to be able to go!

Looovein that little Henry picture...oooh that is so sweet. I am just home to my dogs and a little emotional about dogs. Sorry it was so hot, but you did a great job showing those of us up North how special this event is. I am just about ready to turn my electric blanket on!!!

Hugs,
Suz

I just knew you would come up with some great photos! LOVED the doll creation your daughter snapped...YUM! And the car parked outside of Royer's...that was your wheels, right?! Having lived in the Texas heat/humidity for 7 summers, I know exactly what you mean about being oppressively hot. That's a bummer. There's always next year....Xo, Sue
