May Day 2009

Happy May Day!
I was going to make May Day Baskets.... but went to the local quilt guild's Quilt Show instead with Virginia!

Don't know what all we'll do with these silk cocoons.... but you know it'll be something!
My sister and I.... Saw these baskets on Artsy Mama's A Year of Color Blog... guess I'll use them for something else.... they are peat pots that I painted and glued that crepe paper that I altered on the top after gathering it. Used wire for a handle...

You need to go shopping today for a large apothacary jar for those silk cocoons. I especially love those green ones. Such vivid color.

Is it wrong to be jealous of all your crafting and outings? While I'm doing bathroom duty with little crazy people? ha.

Summer's almost here. j

Great pics, the cocoons colours are fab, I just know they're going to turn up in something great of yours!! The baskets are gorgeous, the whole crepe paper soaking idea was such a winner!

good choice to go to the quilt show.. LOVE the silk cocoons... you'll find what to do with them, but i like the idea of putting some in a bottle for displaying..the picty (you know, like addy?) of you and fonda is very sweet and those little baskets, you are just too creative..how come your creative juices are still flowing when mine are all dried up? :(

I love yours and Virginia's hair dos! Great photo! And I love the quilts you posted too. Makes me want to pull out my lace, buttons and scraps of embroidery.

I wonder what color the worms were that made the cocoons?

I need to show Ashlyn how to use her sewing machine...
