Administrative Issues

You know how frustrating it is when you want to send a note to someone and you can't find their address (be it email, url or street)?
I've been meaning to address this for some time. Well, Sue at Mouse Notebook addressed it today and she did such a great job....
Please go read what she said and check your profile just to be sure you are set right. I know we'll all sleep better.

Easter banners and stuff

These are the mini banners from the swap I hosted on Christian Paper Artists Yahoo Group. This is showing the "spring" side... the other side is the Easter... holy side.... I'll show it next week! They turned out pretty nice! Here is one side of my triptych.... pretty simple....it's a backdrop for Blue and White KLM Towne! And I made a little mini bunny banner. Used my Martha Stewart punch and punched them on a folded line so they hang on the fiber. Put some glue on their feet to hold them together. So cute!

Linda Wins Again!

I won this! Just this morning!
It's by Debi Vincent.
It was a giveaway on Teresa's Ezine Cottage Bella.
I was reading a great tutorial by Natalie Hansen on Cottage Bella this morning... which I SO plan on making. Anyway, I was just reading along and there was the announcement that a winner of the bracelet had been chosen. Imagine my surprise when MY NAME appeared. I never win!
Well...wait... I did win Malisa's Treasure Hunt - but THAT wasn't luck, that was hard, sweaty work on my part!!!
Anyway.... isn't it fab, Margaret?

Gettin my stuff!

On Thursday Virginia and I met Malisa and Karen
at Los Cucos to hand off my winnings
from the Treasure Hunt a couple of Sundays ago on Malisa's blog Moonlight Hollow.
We had a great three hour lunch...... as is common for me!
We had a great, great time! Malisa and Karen are delightful!
And ....
we have planned our next meeting at my house
where we are going to make garlands...ala Pam Garrison!

See what all I won!

I got great stuff, huh!

And I have the necklace on in that first picture. The black and white cards were made by Malisa and Karen.... they collect vintage images and are quite specific about the kinds of photos. Be sure and visit their blog. They are going to Warrenton for the day Sunday

..... it's Antique Weekend in Texas ....

Remember I was there in the fall? Spring is hard for me to get away - too much going on.

But look for me there come October!

Titles must get googled?

Art dog will be seven on April Fool's Day! His arthritis was really bothering him this week. Doesn't he look pathetic? Poor baby. He had to have two Rimadyls a day since Wednesday. I hate giving them to him, but he could hardly walk. He gets cosequin every day.... but doesn't seem to help enough. Anyone know something else I should be doing? The weather did change and he played HARD on Tuesday at doggie daycare (which he lives to go to).
I'm surprised at some of the comments that I got.... people must google what I had in the subjectline earlier. ????

The ABC's of Grunge by Virginia

Okay, I gotta get Virginia to show me her artwork BEFORE she puts it behind glass! Once again we figured out we had to take the framed piece into my bedroom to get it dark enough to photograph....it still isn't perfect! This is soooooooooo wonderful..... this picture does NOT do it justice.
Virginia covered another picture with a collage of music paper and ledger papers, rubber stamping, etc. Then she took her Tim Holtz Grungeboard Alphabet and applied inks. (I need to have her write this up.) You can tell by some of these closeups what she did... if you have questions, put them in Comments and I'll have her respond.

Easter Banners

I'm hosting an Easter Mini-banner swap on Christian Paper Artists Yahoo Group. I finally finished mine last week. One side is to be SPRING and the other side is to be EASTER... as in the true meaning. Above is my Easter side..... I gessoed some cardstock and then I sewed some fibrous white tissue over them... seemed like a cocoon or maybe burial cloths to me... left them open at the top and dropped butterflies inside that I punched with my Martha Stewart punch. I also have some glitter glue on the edges. Then I made some text with scripture and punched one out for the outside of the "cocoon".
Below are the backs of 3 of my pennants. You can see that I really liked making these stacked flowers.... they got put on my ATC dolls in the previous post! I do obsess!
I just made a text block on my computer, filled it with black and then copied and pasted scripture in it in a light color..... then printed it out, glued it on cardstock and then punched butterflies out!
