Checking in from Gruene

Spent a few days in the Texas "hill country" in early March.
Shopped and dined in Gruene, TX  (pronounced Green) a couple of days.
This is a photo of DH and I in front of Gruene Hall.
I think I may have taken a picture of two inside on my phone.
I'll look and add if I did. (I didn't want to look like a tourist.)
Gruene Hall was built in 1878 and is the oldest continually run dance hall in Texas!
So it's kinda special around here.
I like the picture in b&w best. We look like original honkey tonkers.

Below is the view of Canyon Lake from the rental house....

A little unproductive fishing happened....

Three generations.  The "thumbs up" is the Texas A&M signal for "gig em".
We train them early.

Below is my son, his son and wife.
New baby due in May.

California Revisited

We lived in Orange County back in the mid-80's.
So it was fun to visit southern California last week.
That's DH and I on Coronado Island.

Of course we went to the San Diego Zoo.
Below is our grandson visiting with a gorilla!

Isn't he the cutest?

I loved the reindeer. SD Zoo has everything. It's a beautiful zoo.....
but very hilly..........

Below is a Laguna Beach shot. We ate lunch there on Thursday on our way to visit our old hood!

This is in LaJolla on Wednesday at lunch.

Laguna Beach restaurant.

And below is our old house....... top of a driveway.  Surprised it hasn't burned or slid off that hill!

Our son was 2 and 3 years old when we lived there........ now he has an almost 2 year old!
He didn't realize how high in the hills we lived!

 It was a fun week!!!

Nice to look back!
I read that the best way to see if God is working in your life is to look backward.
So true!
I am so thankful!

Can't believe it's September! I didn't even post in August!!!

The River

Last week was spent on the Frio River in Texas.....

Our son and his wife....

 My husband and our son....

All of these shots were taken at Garner State Park.... beautiful place.....

The following pictures were taken at the house we rented on the river....

 .....soooo many pecan trees........

 looking across the street...

..looking back toward the ranch house we stayed in........

Kept the granddog on the leash when I was out alone with him...
didn't want to have to deal with him chasing off after the deer...

and he and the cows across the road enjoyed one another...
I think they thought he was a funny looking cow and he certainly did think
he wanted to join their herd....

DH fished for HOURS off the back patio area.......

Nice to get away..........
but good to be home!

Winding Down in Wimberley

I'm back. Wanted to put up a few shots to let you know I have returned!
