A Loss From My Youth

I spent so many hours in the 1950's and 1960's watching American Bandstand.

Dick Clark MADE American Bandstand great...
he was the perfect host for that venue...
There was never any "talking down" to the teens...
and there was never any flirting with them...
I can't imagine that being achieved in this day!

Today he died at 82.
I'm so glad we got to see him age...
we never thought he'd look older than 25!
It took a stroke to really age him.
I'm glad we had him as long as we did.

He was a national treasure.

He hosted Rockin' New Year's Eve right up until the year before last, didn't he? He stayed current, if not ageless. :)

You and me, too, Linda Jo. I watched every week and he was always the gentleman and always a great entertainer. He will certainly be missed!!!
