 I bought a couple of sculptures in Warrenton.... actually down the road a bit....

Never did show you......

The Birds Found Me!

Remember we moved last June........... just a few miles from our last home

(which we lived in for 27 years)

.....

And one thing I've greatly missed was my birds....

Especially Henry & Louise (the Cardinals)

 

But we gave in and hung a feeder a few weeks ago....

Easter Sunday brought an abundance of new bird friends!

 

This blue bird couple below visit regularly.... mostly tapping on the windows....

...and looked who else showed up!

It was a great Easter!

 

...and she and Henry are showing up regularly...

haven't seen them in the bird bath yet.....

Annette

 

My teen idol......... my childhood idol....

 

I grew up in the 50's watching The Mickey Mouse Club 5 days a week....

all because of Annette.

 

Then she grew up, along with me, and did the Beach Party movies.... I saw them all.

She was an American treasure....

God bless her family and comfort them during these days.

 

(I have my childhood scrapbook that I made filled with Annette!)

Back to Warrenton

 It was a cold day.

A cold and windy day.

But shopping went on!

 

As someone who considers herself a

"paper artist"...

doing collage, altered books, mixed media....

there are supplies like you cannot

imagine at the Texas Antique Weekends...

often just called "Roundtop".

 But I didn't buy any supplies.

I have enough to set up my own booth!

I did buy a Santos head (like the one above)....

I also bought a piece of sculpture (bird in a hat).....

 forgot to take a photo...

will show you later....

 

I would LOVE to have the door below....
I would hang it on a wall....

 

 Anything you want is there!

You should definitely plan to go one day.

 Loved the bus!

 

And I do have a thing for lanterns and bird cages.....

The one below is a lantern..... I did NOT buy it...

Round Top, Texas is pretty much in the middle of the whole event....

the whole event stretches for miles.

I typically prefer Warrenton, Texas..... south of Round Top.

We also went to a lot of booths/tents north of Round Top yesterday.

Going to Round Top/Warrenton, etc. on Thursday the 4th.

I haven't gotten to go the last two years...

but a friend and I decided at the last minute to just run over for the day!

It's April Already!

My creative juices seem to have dried up lately!

I've found that I really have to spend hours just priming that pump

sitting in my art room to get them going.

Sitting in the living room doesn't work.... even if I'm reading your blogs!

I have to confine myself to the art room.

And I don't seem to have time to just sit in there for hours lately.

I did find that when I do sit in there for hours and I finally start a project....

I CAN bring it to the living room and sit and do it!

But you know only certain "products" are allowed in my living room these days.

Some people have warned me about the hazards of bringing things that shed onto the sofa.

I made two nests!

They are from Amy's pattern in her current spring issue of Inspired Ideas.
You should get it!
