Carole (from New Zealand) made the QB5ers a "snippet roll" for Christmas.It's suspended from what I call a thread spool and some people in other lands call a cotton reel.
(a cotton reel sounds to this Texas girl like a cross between the Cotton-Eyed Joe and Virginia Reel.... those are dances)
...but I digress....
Isn't it pretty? It has fabric, lace, paper, etc....
all those things we love are stitched together.
I can leave it as is and suspend it somewhere... or roll it up...
but I may use it as a closure on a future Remains of the Day book!!!
What do you think?

I am dying to make mine into a cuff. it is too pretty to keep rolled up! MUST be displayed! A book closure is an excellent idea!

I'm looking forward to having a go at making some of this pretty 'snippets' ribbon to use in some of my projects, I' m thinking it will work well with the fabric books that I love to make, and also looking forward to reading more of your posts too.

This really is a lovely one! I like the leaf vine stitching down through the strip. You must video your version of the Cotton Reel dance- it will be quite lively I'm sure. I'm working on two more Snippet Rolls right now. They are such fun. I'm off to look at some of your earlier posts and see what you are up to in the sewing studio.
Lovely! And I'm a leaves fanatic too, and learning to machine embroidery and quilt. Love this method of using up my fabric scraps! Such a pretty, useful embellishment!
