A Birthday Felt

I had a birthday a few days ago.... and I received some lovely gifts from my blogging friends.

One is this beautiful felted journal by my dear friend and fellow QB5er, Patty!

I increased the contrast so you can really see those sweet buds above
that are at the ends of the fibers that are the tie closure on this piece.
The pink is actually lighter and sweeter.

She felted a piece of an old hankie on there...
with the rose...

You can see Patty's post about making these here...with more pictures.

The inside is full of great pages!

Patty knows I love journals and needle felting!

Don't you love our blog world!?

Birthday Weekend

The last few days have been full of lots of fun things..... including my birthday.

Above is a picture I took when out shopping for some things for the new house!

And I got to attend a preschool graduation ----
....and we are keeping Henry the granddog while his parents are in Europe.....
My sweet granddaughter came for the weekend to celebrate her grandma's birthday....
She will show you her tongue if you would like to see it....
My son and his wife were in Paris celebrating my birthday....
and...finally....... the electricity got hooked up to our new house we are building....

oh... almost forgot...
DH left an important golfing tool in the cart at a tournament last week...
so we got to drive over to Elkins Lake after church today to retrieve it!!!

But .... lunch was a part of the trip.... so all was good!

I hope you had a full weekend as well!

It's May?

How did it get to be May?
And May 7th already!!!!

I realized I haven't talked about this workshop.
Despite the absence of any art on
 my blog for ages...
I am working on some things...

 They are not GREAT....
but since when did that stop me from sharing?

Junelle is teaching The Art of Wild Abandonment workshop
through Christy Tomlinson.
I love both of those women's workshops.
This is the first one I've taken by Junelle...
and she's adorable!

In case anyone of you are taking/have taken (I'm way behind)...
I had to include my radish page....

See... I AM doing something besides packing!

(oh....and the house sketch... I'm going to use that base for other art...
it was only when I uploaded it that I realized I made a mistake on the 2nd story windows...
maybe I can fix it?)
