Here we are peering into a box of finished journals.... see the old first diary on top!
that big red one will probably never be finished!
Especially when it comes to writing in it...
It is fun to make collages in there....
And there are so many art journaling classes available right now...
even free ones!
Okay..... one last thing today...
I'll be at the Cotton Bowl tomorrow night....
look for me!
(I'll be in maroon!)

Your oldest journal would make awesome collage pages. You have neat handwriting and I bet the pages have a nice (slightly yellowed) patina.
Great post!
Your journals are beautiful. I journaled until my junior year of high school. I'm not sure why I stopped. A snoopy little sister maybe? I haven't saved all mine. They weren't as attractive as yours. I did save a few funny pages. I was a pretty ridiculous 14 year old.
I hope you guys had fun at the Cotton Bowl regardless of the outcome. What a cool Christmas present! Erik and I were hoping to try to meet you guys for brunch but I had to work. A spelling coach never rests!
How fabulous that you still have all you journals. What a fabulous legacy. I have never kept a journal. Maybe I will start this year.
Your childhood diary entry is adorable! I wish I still had mine from when I was a kid. And your pile of journals is just wonderful!
How cool that you have your old diary!! I can remember those little keys...I started journaling...made one entry on New Year's Day I think...nothing since. I wish I could develop that habit. Love looking at yours!
Thanks for the link to the free classes! I plan to journal a lot more this year for sure. Have a great day Linda! Sandy xo
Linda, This is a precious post! That first photo...oh how fun! What was mother thinking in saying "no" to Walter's proposal?!
Since the "bowl of cotton" is all over...we'll not talk about it. Although on a more positive memory for the Aggies, I do remember back in the 80's when living in TX myself the Aggies played The Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl and came home with the prize. As a consolation prize, I covered an old plastic bowl in cotton balls for a DIE HARD Longhorn Alum and snuck it on their desk with an anonymous note. Of course, they automatically suspected an Aggie of such antics...
No doubt you had a great time despite the ending score!
Your journal looks so interesting. Love that illustration - she's so chic and sassy!
