We lost two woodpeckers last week.
I had seen the couple fly into a window the week before,
but they flew off to a tree afterwards....
At least they died together....
I don't know WHY I shared these photos with you...
It just seemed to me that you would care....
They were so pretty....

I love woodpeckers. Well, so long as they aren't pecking on my house. We have at least one that comes to the feeder -- the markings are so lovely.
I always feel sad when I see birds fly into windows. You wonder what they saw inside that looked so exciting they had to fly in to find it.
I'm sorry.
oooh poor things and yes being together is come solace...

we have a suet feeder that I can see looking out the window over my left shoulder and the Downy Woodpeckers enjoy it quite a bit...
yesterday we had a big Red Bellied Woodpecker visit...
I think the number of bird photos may rival the number of sunset and sky pix I take ;)
(((hugs))) to you Missy

Oh no, that is sad. Woodpeckers are so pretty for sure. We had one pecking on our house for a period of time, that one....not so pretty...I wasn't happy about that. We used a wind chime to deter him/her.
