Fly-Overs

There is almost always a "fly-over" before the start of the football game at Texas A&M University.
I almost never get a good picture of it tho.
I took about 5...this is the only one with jets in the picture!
Saturday was 9/11 and First Responder Day....
It was a night game.
Remember that...it will be important later.
Above is my daughter-in-law and I!
(married a year this month)
Below are the newlyweds... my daughter and her husband.
(married just over a month)
If she doesn't approve of this photo, it will be different later today...
Yes, we take a lot of pictures... all subject to approval.
Below is the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.... there are those of you that always want to see them.
Even tho the picture looks the same.
However, I didn't cheat by showing you an old shot....
look in the middle and you can see the red/white and blue Aggie emblem done for the Day.
In the shot below...
if you click on it to make it larger and then click again...
for even larger...
you can see my daughter's in-laws...
(below the ie...in the lower deck)
(thought you'd want to look)
Remember the night game thing I mentioned earlier?
Well...... DIL and I went to the concession stand at the beginning of the 2nd half.
I.... not her.... just me.... (she wandered off to speak to a friend)....
found out that bats don't just do a "fly-over" like those jets...
they drop stuff on you....
I did not take that picture.
For one thing I was afraid to look UP for that long.
And the bats dropping stuff on me were not in the sky...
they were in the rafters of the stadium .... outside the seating area.
It appears (after much research online by yours truly..) that they are migrating to Mexico for the winter.
However, some of them often "meet someone" and decide to stay and set up "housekeeping" at Kyle Field. I've seen them there before (been going to Kyle Field since the early 70's....yes, I was quite young then)..... but I've never seen them in this quantity.
I wasn't going to blog about this.
But it just "came out".

You can appreciate this - my friend, Sandy that crafts with us missed Saturday because her brother and nephew were on the field with Coach Sherman (is that his name) - he got to go to the locker room before and after the game. He served in Afghanistan. Way cool.

Aggies, Aggies, Aggies....ah well I love Bobby and Kacee anyhow. I can't believe they've been married a year at the end of the month. That means I've been married a year in another month.
What did you fill your wedding dress sachets with? My mom used to have actual lavender in the garden to put in them. I'm not as good.

Yikes. Those bats would have done me in! Especially the dropping part! Glad you all survived!

hahaa
glad you had a relatively happy ending :) to your bat barrage story!

Great pics ... it's clear you all are having a great time!

I Love the sound of jets roaring overhead ... my Mom lives near Andrews AFB and there are times when I run outside like a little kid to LOOK and Listen

Well folks, my husband has been saying Mom is "bat shit crazy" for awhile now. He really loved Saturday! Ha (those two joke with each other well)
Mom, the picture of you and Kacee looks fake with all those people behind you, but I know it's not. I took it!
Nice job on the cropping of me and hubby. Thanks!
