Art Among the Mosquitoes

I risked my health going outside to take these pictures a little while ago. The mosquitoes have always been big in Texas - but these that are here now after Hurricane Ike are MONSTERS! Even OFF! doesn't really work.
So above is my bird canvas.... I think it's completed. The nest is made of a page out of a little New Testament that I have had most of my life and just never used it....so I tore a page out and spread ink on it - now it will be read!!! I plan to use that little New Testament a lot for art in the future!
And here is the little holly leaf hanging. I do love the utee sign. So easy and does so much! As you can tell the stamp said Joy to You..... I kept getting the top of the to in there...but that's okay. I am NOT a perfectionist. And I wanted to show you these skeletons. I was about to be eaten alive so I threw them down quickly. I saw garlands of them at Michael's weeks ago for about $5. I got these at the dollar store...Dollar Tree, I think, for $1 for 4 on a string of twine!!! I've seen them online where people have dressed them. I simply MUST do something with them. You should go get some!

Linda - Glad to hear you and yours are ok after IKE. I kinda took a hiatus from blogging when I lost my camera and blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I kept all you coastal people in my prayers. I'm glad you didn't suffer any damage to your home, so many did.

I really like your little birdie in it's Bible verse nest! Also, I have little green tree frogs that stick to our little farmhouse all the time. Only at night. If I catch one hanging out, I'll have to take it's picture for you!
