Catching Up

January has found me cleaning out...
yes, again.
I am definitely simplifying my art life!

The above books were donated to my local library...
as were at least twice that many last spring!

....
and
....

I'm on The 17 Day Diet

.... and I was quite effected by the death of Lady Sybil....
Image and info here!

.... all I got right now...

You Should Get These!

These are about 6 ft tall hinged canvas screens at Hobby Lobby.

They are two sided.

There are 4 panels.

When I saw them a couple of weeks ago they
were "on sale" for $70.  I would like them to be less.

But... that's not a bad price if you consider that you could take the hinges off and
you would have 4 separate LARGE canvases....

You could do some of that wonderful artwork you see on Pinterest....

like here!

Really anything that you would do on canvas.

They were as wide as from my elbow to the tip of my index finger....

Let me know if you get one and alter it....

January Marches On!

I do love Paperwhites!
They have got to be the easiest bulb to grow!

I've been a very bad blogger these last few months...
and I certainly don't seem to be improving in 2013.

So thought I'd try to share a bit...

Although I can grow Paperwhites,
I'm struggling with a couple of
Pyramind Hollies
in front of my house...

The people that know about this sort of thing
advised me to pull them up and add more
soil and water them more.

I thought they were maybe rotting....
no, they don't think so.....

I just bought them in December and
they were NOT cheap...
I am determined to save them!

Any expert advice?
(major leaf loss and no sign of insects)

I also FINALLY repaired a hole in The Pink Artists Quilt!
(None of the old links for that group work!!!)
Someone had used something resembling a whisk broom in it and it
had cut the fabric.  The quilt is very heavy and I had to fix the hole
before I can hang it.

DH is helping me hang it during halftime in the playoff game
that is on right now...

I'll show ya soon!

And my granddaughter keeps me a little busy...
not much....
but enough...

She saw her shadow Friday....

and then there was the Cotton Bowl
which the Aggies won!

Here is a shot of my granddog wearing his tshirt well!

I'm going to try to do better
or
I might stop blogging...

I think I'm running out of blog stuff...

Swap Fun

Natalea at Kandeland hosted a little ornament swap
that I participated in....

Thought you needed to see some SWEEEEET
ornaments today.

Be sure to click on the links and visit their blogs....

My photos do not do justice to any of these.
They are so perfect and so inspired!

Merry Christmas!

Viv's Whimsy
This is such a delightful stocking...
everything created with attention to detail... the little face
is a split styrofoam ball.

Jeanne made these wonderful snow worlds in little jam jars.
French writing surrounds the edge and the top is decorated as well...
Magnifique!

Kimberly
 did this doll leg!
It is soooo delightful... filled with beauty...
I have a doll leg that I could do that, too!

made a beautiful fabric heart with
Joy to the World stitched on.
You know how I love fabric and stitching!
This is soooo special!

Sandy did the tree above and the darling framed image below.... love both!
She stitched the trees with sticks for their base... a lot of work getting that
tree shape...
And below is a delightful image in that sweet frame!

Patty did the beautiful spoon ornament below.... it is her usual exquisity!
I'm pretty sure that's not a word.... but I think I'm going to get away with it.

I made little snow worlds inside of watch case boxes that I order from Lee Valley.

Hard to photograph .... I used my Cropadile to make holes in the top to string a hanger through.
I think you can figure the rest out easily.
I buy little figures when they are on sale at Michael's (for train villages, etc.)!

I added words to the inside of the top with glue.
And I punch a hole in the bottom under the figurine
to hang something like a bell or drop through...

You've still got time!

Have a blessed Christmas....

Do All the Good You Can

“Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.” – John Wesley
