January Marches On!

I do love Paperwhites!
They have got to be the easiest bulb to grow!

I've been a very bad blogger these last few months...
and I certainly don't seem to be improving in 2013.

So thought I'd try to share a bit...

Although I can grow Paperwhites,
I'm struggling with a couple of
Pyramind Hollies
in front of my house...

The people that know about this sort of thing
advised me to pull them up and add more
soil and water them more.

I thought they were maybe rotting....
no, they don't think so.....

I just bought them in December and
they were NOT cheap...
I am determined to save them!

Any expert advice?
(major leaf loss and no sign of insects)

I also FINALLY repaired a hole in The Pink Artists Quilt!
(None of the old links for that group work!!!)
Someone had used something resembling a whisk broom in it and it
had cut the fabric.  The quilt is very heavy and I had to fix the hole
before I can hang it.

DH is helping me hang it during halftime in the playoff game
that is on right now...

I'll show ya soon!

And my granddaughter keeps me a little busy...
not much....
but enough...

She saw her shadow Friday....

and then there was the Cotton Bowl
which the Aggies won!

Here is a shot of my granddog wearing his tshirt well!

I'm going to try to do better
or
I might stop blogging...

I think I'm running out of blog stuff...

Winter is Over!

Thought you needed a "Henry fix"!
(my granddog)
He loves to swim.
He loves to go to the dog park!
He just loves to be!
.....and another sign that winter is over....
I took some pictures on the way home from church Sunday....
The Azaleas are blooming their hearts out here!
Happy Spring!

Foreign Objects

Henry is at the vet's office today.
His mom and dad think he might have eaten a foreign object.
He's only one and well... you know how they like to put everything in their mouth!
So pray Henry is okay and they get the right diagnosis and he gets treated appropriately.
UPDATE ON SATURDAY 1/15.... Henry came home today. Feels good, waiting for him to "pass" foreign object. Had barium this morning, so goes in for an IV on Sunday to help prevent dehydration. Things are looking up! Pray for passing! Thanks for the prayers and good wishes!

Friday Frenzy!

Do you think August is too early for glitter?
I drug mine out yesterday... just seemed to hit the spot.. so to speak!
I looked at Lynn's blog yesterday and was
so impressed with her willingness to show her mess.
LOL
So I thought I'd show you mine...
Below is my worktable top..........
I do my best work in chaos.
I'm not good with tidy.
And since it's Friday ....
thought I'd give you a Henry "fix"....
the dog loves the water!
He reminds me of a spider in this first one...

Here he is digging in the water!

And ... yes.... he gets to go to the dog park and play!
He's in Wimberley for the weekend...
His parents should get some great pictures there of the wild man!
Have a great weekend!

July Storms

They say it's the 4th wettest July in history in Houston! At least that's what my son heard. Saturday night we lost a huge limb in the front yard. It was from a Sweetgum tree.... we need to remove the entire tree. Don't get me started on Sweetgum balls. With the July storms..... we must mention this storm trooper... cute little ole Henry!
Guess what?
He's gotten bigger!
His mommy and daddy went away for the weekend.
So he got to come stay with his paternal grandparents....
It's like having a toddler in the house...
He liked watching grandpa use a chainsaw in the front yard tho!
He's still sweet.....
Unlike a toddler.... when he eats a shoe you don't take him to the doctor.
And when he stands at the window and barks, the law allows you to
squirt large amounts of lime juice in his mouth!
Lime juice is a great training tool.
