Angelic Art Award

The Angelic Art Award was given to me by Nathalie earlier this month. That was so very sweet of her.... she is one of my favorite artists. I know I inspired her to start a blog... so that is certainly something I'm proud to have accomplished. ha! So I am here to pass it on. I am to award it to five bloggers that inspire my creativity daily. So here goes:

Natalae that I met in November at Silver Bella - this girl does more in one day than I do in a week - she is so consistent in her love of pretty things that have a certain sweetness, plus she's a wonderful person.

Beth was at Silver Bella - but we forgot to get together! We had emailed before the event and we read each other's blogs.... but well, if you were at Silver Bella you'd understand. Anyway, her blog is a delight and is always FULL of inspiration. Check her out!

Tammy... another Bella. Now, I did meet Tammy and she is a sweetheart. She was inspiring me before I even knew she was going to Silver Bella - if you check out my blog waaaaay back you will see how she inspired my banners.

Cindy - yep, another Bella. I can't help it. These girls really "get me". Go look!

Basketball

Last Saturday I spent the day with the two men in my life! We drove to College Station, Texas and watched the Aggies get beat by Nebraska. But...it was a beautiful day and just nice to be together. It doesn't look like the Ags will make it to March Madness this year ... that's sad .. however it does free me of a great deal of stress.

Did you see that Yao has a fracture in his left foot and is out for the season? My poor Rockets. Well, they still won without him last night. We shall see.

I plan to do ART tomorrow! So there will be pictures of art.... I promise! Today I had to do my "marriage nugget" in Young Mom's Bible Study. No, I'm not a young mom... I'm a "seasoned mom". ha! I don't like speaking in front of the big group - but God got me through it! They seemed to enjoy my nugget... it was about that thing it's so hard for us to share with others about our husbands - we are embarrassed for others to know. The gist of it was - Our hubbies say some really dumb things at home...makes you wonder how they hold down a job sometimes. But I assured the girls that it is normal and most men are this way. They feel loved and safe at home and can let that little boy out and the women are a blessing to provide that safe sanctuary for them. You get the abbreviated nugget - although the actual one wasn't TOO MUCH longer.

Undu?

I know you've been wondering if I got all that good stuff out of that scrapbook I bought. Well... I didn't get it "unglued". I never did get any of that Undu, so I still have some pages with pictures or cards on both sides. I think that will be my giveaway when it's my 100th post... which is rapidly approaching! But there are so many wonderful things in that book... I will be sharing those for awhile. It would be WRONG to hoard it. I guess these things picked up the pink from the tissue paper. The angel is silver and the bird is pewter. Got them at Maggie's..... the angel will be perfect for a rubbing. It's flat on the back. The bird feeds my obsession for birds lately. And, yes, Virginia, I bought those 3 canvas panels at Pottery Barn today! I should've taken their picture. But here is a link. Go there and then click on Eclectic Bird Art.

That quote is stuck in my head... Well, I had to take a picture before the valentine roses were totally wiped out. I love roses! And these smelled wonderful!

Valentine's Day continues...

My friend, Virginia, made the above valentine! Isn't it wonderful! That shiny border is glitter! It's on matboard and is 6 1/2" x 9"!!! I will keep it hanging out. If you click on the picture, you can see it larger. Anna made this one .... she was making an effort to not be cutsey. It's very mature and womanly...like her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And this one was done by Corbi. It's a small book and the scan does not do any of these justice. The title page says "real love stories" and the last page says "don't have endings." and then she put "I have loved you with an everlasting love" Jeremiah 31:3! And it has a great ribbon binding.

Happy Birthday to Debbie!

Today is my daughter's birthday!!! She's 29! Oh my gosh!

I have always loved this picture of her.... I took it when we were in Cancun a few years ago. I won't get to celebrate (involving food) with her until later in the week or next weekend. Her dad and brother are both out of town on business. She has class tonight (working on her Master's degree). Her boyfriend is taking her to dinner tomorrow night, plus I think they celebrated her birthday most of this past weekend...so don't feel sorry for her. ha!

This is the day she graduated from Texas A&M! Six years ago! She is a treasure and I have been so blessed to have her in my life. I can't believe it was 29 years ago today that I went into labor with her a day before my scheduled C-Section! She has always had a mind of her own. She was coming out feet first and she was a big baby ... and this was before they did ultrasounds routinely. In fact they never did an ultrasound on me in that pregnancy and I did live in the big city of Houston! But all turned out well as you can see!
