Deep in the Heart of Texas

....I've been absent a few days... went to a friend's ranchland...
My husband is holding my wine while I take pictures....
but you know we won't let him claim that...
So..... last week, I looked up the schedule for the next
stagecoach heading west....
Packed our bags and departed for the lands west of San Antonio....
I might add that it was VERRRRY windy and thus the new hairstyle!
and left my boots packed for dancing.... didn't want to get them dusty...
..... you can't really complain about your stagecoach, but this one was a little dusty.... saw lots of turkeys...
and we all headed to the local watering hole...
I should've taken more animal shots...
I mean pictures...
(they don't like the word shots)
when we left I turned and took a picture out the back of the stagecoach...
I must say that the blasted moon was so bright all week,
you could hardly see the "stars at night"
deep in the heart of Texas.
...above is from my front yard last night...
Spring Break is over.

  3. Sounds like you are at Kerrville area, where I used to live and work. The hill country is beautiful and abundant with wildlife, mainly deer. Yes, the moon was gorgeous last night and we couldn't see stars down here in south Texas because of the brightness of it. But that's okay every once in awhile. :) Hope you are hving fun.

  6. Linda,
You crack me up! I love the "they don't like the word shots." I'm currently into all pioneer books, so I'm really digging the stagecoach. You MUST read "These is My Words" by Nancy E. Turner. It is fabulous!

  7. This looks so relaxing, Linda! Esp.that front porch...just made for sipping on a bevie and getting lost in one's thoughts. And thanks to the wind, you now know another way to style your hair! In that last picture, looking out the back of the "stagecoach"...is that a cross or a clothesline in the right corner?
